Iguassu, the most amazing place ever!!!

So how amazing was iguassu falls, we saw the falls from both the Brazillian side (which gave the panoramic views!) and from the Argentinian side (where we got a bit more up close and personal!) I have had the most awe inspiring last couple of days! You wouldnt believe the size of the waterfall, and no picture i have taken will ever encompass its mass and how beautiful and powerfull it was, i know im having a soppy moment but this is the reason i came! for these moments where i feel so very lu...

Zweiter Tag auf hoher See

Erster Tag auf See, Rio Plata

Tuesday, September 22, 2009<br><br>Latest news from Argentina:<br><br>- I'm sick. It has given me a surprise day off from school, which is nice but definitely not worth the sore throat, gross mucus stuff I cough up, or fever. <br><br>-Yesterday was definitely the best day here so far. It was a holiday in the city (Students' Day) so we didn't have class. Instead we were invited to go to a school in a really poor ...

Day 8 - Buenos Aires - Tigre

... since it is frequent and effective although far from comfortable. On arrival we made our way to the well known and popular Puerto de Frutos (Fruit Market). Not a great deal of fruit but a super handy craft market and dirt cheap prices. On the way we bypassed a rather large theme park. We had no intention of going in but that didn't stop Jody and Niamh from endlessly requesting that we pay a visit, made worse by the fact that you could ...

... had probably my favourite name for an establishment so far. Certain rich people here seem to have an affectation of upperclassness that they like to associate with England, Georges cross, cricket, polo that kind of thing. The people we called picos in Seville suffered from this kind of derrangement too, they wore white slacks and pink wooly jumpers slung over their shoulders and stuff like that. In fairness to them the Argentians have a bit more ...

Wet dream

... morning, as he thought we were going to Palta. I don't think any such Argentinean town exists, but Palta is the word for avocado in some South American countries, so it's understandable that Ben was sad to miss out on seeing a giant avocado. Hopefully La Plata, the beautiful government centre of the Buenos Aires province, would be a suitable alternative for Ben. <br><br>Off to the Retiro bus station, about a 15 minute walk. We could ...

Architecture in Argentina

... completely validated my decision to stay behind in Buenos Aires and for the first time in 48 hours, I felt good about travelling again. I went back to Buenos Aires and visited the Museum of Latin American Art which was was alright (didn't bother to go inside though, just photographed the building from the outside) and the impressive Temple for the Amijai Community. I actually got told off talking pictures of the outside of the complex (the temple ...

Buenos Aires

... most tourists see, so this would have to do. We drank some wine and generally had a pretty good night. The following day was to be Chris and Dan's last in Buenos Aires. So we decided to cram as many sights as possible into it. We started with a trip to the antiques market in San Telemo. Can't say I'm big on antiques but there were some cool things in some of the stores. What I liked most was the atmosphere there. There were lots ...
