... because there are a lot of almond trees in this area) and they brought me fish with mussels. Then when I came to eat the fish I found it to be uncooked in the middle but when I complained they looked at me with astonishment, didn't apologise and failed to offer to do something about the food. The drive up the mountains takes two hours and is a combination of winding roads and tunnels a few times all you could see was a mountain 100 metres ahead and no obvious road until you go around a bend. Its one of the prettiest towns I've ever seen. Snow all gone but now gearing up for summer hikers. Wine 2 euro a bottle, beer 2.50 a pint.I had a few electrical problems but after an hour with ...

... climb to reach the top so we thought pictures from below more accurately reflected their majesty and dominance. Luckily the next planned visit was a much newer Abbey. It was a bit off the main road so i was pleased to see a sign stating it was open until 6 when we turned off the road at about 4.
In case I haven't mentioned it before French roads can be very narrow and some drivers very foolhardy. So, after a 30 plus minute drive along even more ...
