Lots to report today. We had one of our best rides yet along the coast from Peschici to Manttinata through Gargano Park. Lots of rolling hills, little traffic and beautiful vistas. Between Manttinata and Manfredonia, our final destination for the day, there only two routes. One is a 2 km tunnel, closed to bikes, and the other is a mountainous road with many switchbacks. Unfortunately the local police had closed the road for a car race. We used ...

We like to eat breakfast on the 12th floor. It has a huge buffet with lots of delicious food. The 12th deck also has two pools, four jacuzzis and lots of music. Toni likes to eat dinner in a formal dinning room on the 6th floor. I feel increadebly spoiled. :) No shopping, cooking nor cleaning, ...

We traveled all the way across Italy to the eastern Adriatic coast to the town of Vieste on Wednesday. On the way we stopped to see Hadrian's Villa just outside of Rome near Tivoli. If you recall Hadrian was the dude who built the Pantheon and the wall across the northern edge of the Roman Empire in England to protect the Romans from invading Celts. This is the origin of the old expression that "if you can't beat ...

If you haven't already, make sure you click on "About this Blog," so you read about the basis for this trip.

Today we travelled to Foggia where we visited a government building that may have provided birth information about our grandmother and great grandmother. Birth records often give you great information other than just the record of birth, which is why it would be great to obtain it. We managed to ...
