... roadster...now parked and riddled on the estate.
After picking up Menna from the airport, and dropping bags off at the hotel, we headed out to the main plaza to check out the cathedral and have a nice Chihuahuan dinner. We stumbled into a great little cenaderia (traditional restaurants, usually built into houses) for an awesome dinner, complete with live guitarist. We spent a good hour catching up ...

... they started to drive past where I wanted to go, that is when I started to become suspicious.

At this point, I asked them where they were going, and they said they knew a better place to go and walk to the waterfall. I was dubious, but couldn't leave the car, so as they drove another 10km away, I started to make observations of the two men, and of the vehicle in case anything were to happen. They asked if I was hungry, but I explained I didn't have much time or money ...

... 4th of July parade in Del Mar. It was a really fun, energetic experience with loads of families bedecked in red, white, and blue clothing, ribbons, hats, and even a striped wig! They take their patriotism seriously in Del Mar, apparently. Some kids had decorated their bikes, wagons, or scooters and had a competition for the most finely embellished vehicle after the parade. Quite a hoot. We bid goodbye to Jim and family at around 10:15, and got on the road for Venice Beach.

We arrived in the city of Chihuahua at around 1:30 p.m. and were impressed by the beautiful colonial mansions that we saw and the wide streets. The hotel that we stayed in was a few steps from the cathedral in the main square, a great location for exploring. Thanks again, Amigo Trails.
