    We're enjoying the small town feel of Trier...on the river Mosel, close to the Rhine. We love the river...have slowed down...visited the sights...eaten well...did our laundry...planned for our next stop. We also bicycled today, but those fotos will be in tomorrow's entry. ...

    ... of little kids. It is illegal to hit children in Germany...even parents can't hit!

    Yesterday was crazy trying to catch trains because of a train conductor strike...more like a slowdown. We left Munich at about 10am and arrived in Trier at midnight.

    Today we walked some and rested...photos tomorrow!

    ... 1921 as he believed the climate etc mirrored Champagne. Over the years they starting producing a sparkling wine, and some table wines. A short, OK, tour was taken, followed by a drop of tasting. The grapes used are in the majority Riesling, and minority Pinot Noir. This differed from Champagne who use C******nay, and as such there was a distinct difference in taste. It was a really decent drop ... Even more interesting, and strange at the same time, was our guide, ...

    Today we headed to the town of Sankt Goar, which sits on the banks of the Rhine. We decided to pick up a Rhine river cruise from here, hoping to find one which went for about an hour, however the only cruise on offer was for 3 hours.
