... Sure, they don't dash here there and everywhere and cling to your bumper like the Italians, and they don't try to ram you off of the road like the French, but they do have some strange habits. The main one, is that they randomly speed up and slow down for no reason. One minute they are hurtling past you at 160kph, then a few minutes later you will pass the same car dawdling along at 60kph. ... visited GH Mumm and had a nose around their boutique but it wasn't up to par as the others we visited but they do make good Champagne.

Note to oneself, never buy champagne that has been exposed to light, always get the bottles from a carton, light and champagne do not go well together.

So here we are now in Chalon's en Champagne, it is wet and cold and miserable, this is the first lot of **** weather we have had in ages so we are not too upset, gives me time to play catch ...

We left our camp in Grevenmacher, Luxembourg, this morning in more light drizzle and hit the A1 straight away to get out of town.
After almost an hour on the motorway, Treas said she wanted to get off the big roads and onto some smaller roads, in the anticipation that we might enjoy another trip like that down the Mosel valley...
