We are getting pretty slick at getting sorted in the morning now. I seem to be able to sort myself out, pannier packed and ready for breakfast within about 20 minutes of the alarm going off. We were on the road well before 08:30 this morning and with the roads being amenable to fairly fast cycling we managed to cover 143km and still finished quite early.

We left our camp in Grevenmacher, Luxembourg, this morning in more light drizzle and hit the A1 straight away to get out of town.
After almost an hour on the motorway, Treas said she wanted to get off the big roads and onto some smaller roads, in the anticipation that we might enjoy another trip like that down the Mosel valley...

Bought some bubbly in Reims then on to Chalons-en-Champagne. Lovely town with two large churches as usual. The Notre-Dame De L'Epine dated back 1405 the Cathedrale St Etienne dated back 1230.

... from there into Reims, had lunch, walked around a bit, found a large wine store where Stan could buy a bottle of good cognac (if you are not in cognac it is amazingly hard to buy good cognac in France), walked back and hung out in the cathedral for a time.
