We took a train from Arbon to Bern, arriving there at about noon. Bern (means "bear" in German) is the capital of Switzerland and a cross-roads type city, with a very large shopping district in ...

... there with several large bottles of refreshments, a latte macchiato, a loaf of fresh French bread, cheese, cookies, biscuits, a basket of nectarines, and two containers of pudding, all for less than twenty dollars. If we had any kind of microwave or cooking facilities, we would have bought some more substantial food, but still at very reasonable prices. So go to LIDL if you’re in Geneva and want something to nosh on without busting your ...
