On the trail. We hiked from Les Houches to Refuge de la Miage. Stunning views all the way. Hiked across a suspension bridge over a stream flowing from an Alpine glacier. The day ended with a long long descent that was very ******* our knees, but we survived. Dinner was surprisingly romantic and elegant in a gazebo like dining room in a very secluded mountain valley. Dinner included a salad, souffle, local cheeses, and a blueberry tart. The French know how to ...

WOW,WOW,WOW is all I can say to describe this mornings ride, we rode up hills and cruised back down with mighty mountains to our left and right. It was awesome and reminded me of eating at dinner on a cruise ship, but Nic quickly reminded me she wouldn't have to walk 17 miles uphill on a cruise! LOL! I am absolutely loving meeting all these people. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings! Buen Camino! Hardest day ...

... on the road. Our goal has been 1000km and we had 108km to go when we started out form Aix Les Bains. With the weather **** it looked a tall order, however Jacqui and I dug deeper than ever and follwed the trail until it petered out somewhat. The we decided to stay on the back roads and boy was I glad we did.
We stumbled on the Vineyard of Guy & Pascal PERCEVAL.

... a lot of time today look at the map we had trying work out which way to go its signposted but quite confusing for us kiwi's. We get onto a small road and then we come across a wine cave called "PASCAL PERCEVAL" - needless to say that Rod and Pascal got so excited, we have to stop, we have to taste the wine of my distant fore fathers - oh ok then I say. The wine maker was really friendly ...
