Absolutely chateau'd!
... stopping for glimpses of even more chateau's at Azay-le-Rideau and Chinon where we also went for a wander through the old town as sun was setting. By the time we got back to Saumur, the city lights had come on so we thought it might be a good opportunity to get a photo of the Chateau lit up at night.

The Da Vinci Road
... park, the chateau is indeed grandiose with a mini-city of turrets and spires atop several stories of unrivalled splendour. At it's centre is a double-helix staircase thought to be the handy work of one Leonardo da Vinci.
Our next chateau was in the heart of the village Blois. It is so ensconced in the thick of it all that it was impossible to find parking so we satisfied ourselves with a drive by knowing that chateau sitings are a dime a dozen in these here parts and ...
Castles and Caves...a cracker day!
... and it was very impressive! Chateau de Montreuil-Bellay was perched on a hill with great views of the surrounding countryside...so the competition was on for G & P to capture the best holdiay pic!
Would totally recommend this area to holiday makers but just be sure not to miss the troglodite caves!
(Te Ball is currently downstairs watching the AB's in their first game of the Rugby World cup...I am heading that way...go the AB's!)

Four days in the Loire Valley

Revisiting Angers
I had to check out unordinarily early for a hotel/hostel- 9:30 am! It was rough! And my train wasn't until 12, so I had a lot of time to kill waiting in the lobby. At least I had a good book!
