Yesterday we left St Jean de Luz and drove 240 miles to Chataillon Plage near La Rochelle where we stayed the night on a pleasant Campsite near the beach. So back to the book and plan C or D by now to find another nice aire at Prefailles, on the outside of a campsite which meant we could use their showers and toilets, goodoh. Again quite full but we found a space and after some lunch went for a walk around the area, all countrified and not much else.

... thought it quite amusing. Grandpa (with no English) brought our mud mats back shredded and had a conversation with Brian (no French) about replacing them, but it was all too difficult so we said ‘no problem’ and left it at that. What an entertaining time, there is no need for television on a campsite! It is now chucking it down once more so I have bought some wifi time to do some catching up on emails etc.
