Lastly, even though I felt slightly inconvenienced about nothing being open, I understand the importance of Armistice Day (and Remembrance Day back home). While we are in Bourgogne, we will mostly be in the départment of Côte-d'Or, where the most expensive and prized Burgundies are found (not that we will be drinking these!), so we decided to bone up a little on our wine knowledge.

... should receive a refund in due course. Not happy Jan
We enlist the help of Stephane at reception at the Sofitel in Dijon who makes a temporary booking at the Mercure in Beaune so we can travel there and sort out the issue at the time we are expected to arrive.
