There are narrow lanes to walk down, which offer some respite from the heat of the day as the buildings are all stone so are very cool. We spent an afternoon in Le Mans and caught the train early in the morning to Tours. We connected to Lyon and from there to Bellegarde and on to Geneva and Lausanne. Darren missed the SNCF train announcement tune so much when he was in NZ that on his return to France, and upon hearing it a few times, he subconsiously whistled it a few times even after we got to Switzerland.

Now that actually wasn't too bad but when the sat nav decided to have a hissy fit and refuse to take any further charge things started to get decidedly tricky.
We were now off the beaten track in the middle of the countryside and only able to view the sat nav for 20 seconds at a time by repeatedly switching it on. I gathered from the over heard debates that it wasn't looking good for getting to Nantes ...
