Baeuex to see the tappestry there - it was only another 15 minutes train ride but at this point I could travel no more and needed a shower and to not lug about our bags so I decided to go to our hotel first and then come back to the train. But our hotel was a 40 euro taxi ride away from the train station. To take a taxi to Bayeux would be 100 euro -one way. Then when we got up to our room there was a bath with bubble bath so the bath won and the tappestry remains unseen!

... you try to go through the turnstile, door thingy with a massive rucksack and three smaller bags. Needless to say I got through but my rucksack didn’t and after a great tussle to no affect I released myself from the damn bag so that I, and it, were on opposite sides of the doors. I had to laugh at myself, but also had a teeny problem in that I could not move on without my clothes and toiletries and I looked a bit daft just standing there.
