Last stop in France

After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!
... and not campervan parking friendly. We found a picture perfect stop just after Monte Carlo at the top of a hill overlooking the Med. We had the place to ourselves so we russelled up some brekkie in the sun which was lovely, so much so we were in t-shirts!!!

Gorges Verdon... Route Napoleon

Gorgeous morning and a stunning place for breakfast awaited us just outside Scooby overlooking the lake. I went for a run but Kim was feeling a little under the weather so she stayed and made me breakfast - yay! We spotted two girls about our age and attempted to engage in some conversation but their English was limited and French is rubbish. Shame as its manily been the grey hair brigade we ...

... Three hours later, we exited Sabatini's! A fantastic end to a very memorable day! Princess Lesia, this day was yours! Every second, every minute, every hour! I was honored to be your husband because every Princess has a Prince! And for the day, as I escorted you, I felt like Prince Richard!

Bonsoir! Cannes Film Festival

... because the production staff kept on changing the numbers of people at the tables when the important guests called.

When my boss, the decorator in charge of the tent, was busy with different things, I took the seating chart from her and told her I would handle it. I orchestrated a group of people (some who only spoke french, some italian) to rearrange all of the tables and place settings. This took ALL day. I was there from 9 until 6. Since all of the ...

French Dinner and Valentine's Day

... off, but it wasn't very comfortable. We watched Extreme Home Makeover in French before we went to sleep. In the morning, we got any early breakfast/lunch of pasta and walked around by the palace and saw the changing of the guards. Then it was too late for the boys to ride all the way back to Cannes and get their bikes back in time, so we took the train back. I had a really great weekend and Valentine's Day but I can't wait to sleep in my own bed, alone, tonight.

Last days in Antibes and surrounds

After Monaco on the Friday, on Saturday we settled down to walk to and explore our neighbouring village Juan Le Pin with Chris. Walked via the residential streets, with their beautiful homes and left them there to explore themselves, and headed back to home where we had a quiet day enjoying the continuous Mediterranean sunshine and the magnificent views this town of Antibes has from so many vantage points. Also had a ball enjoying the Saturday markets. Sunday ...

Antibes

... so and find the location inside the village brilliant. Old Antibes, is a small seaside village that has adapted to its brilliant location with a deep water port, something Nice and Cannes lack and Monaco has limited space. They have their Millionaires row of yachts (we think all the various marina rows fit that description while their Millionaires row would better be described as Billionaires row. Several of the ships, not motor yachts in size, have to ...
