In about 9 days I leave this beautiful country named the Netherlands. The countdown is started yiehaaa.
I was always convinced that I knew where I would be the next few years. But taking this amazing year abroad I really don't know it yet. But hey let's say: sometimes it's better to leave ...

After a couple of u-turns (in a really wide river) Martin decides to moor up on an empty and locked landing stage, not great for the dogs but too late to ...

    ... our overnight accommodation.
The following morning we will have an 8-hour bus ride to Tamatave/Toamasina, where the Africa Mercy is docked.

I'm pretty nervous for the adventure that lies ahead; but I am confident it will be an unforgettable and life-altering experience. An experience that wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of my parents, my employer, Mercy Ships Belgium and the not-for-profit organisation Acrima. Thank you!
