    ... The trip went fairly well for several hours. It is very windy today so at times, it felt like we were going to be blown off the road. We wanted to stop in Gent, Belgium so we travelled in that direction. However, when we arrived in that city, we didn't see the charming part that we had heard resembled Bruges, so we just continued on. We are getting tired of being on the road and still have a ways to go.

    Avoided Haarlem and Amsterdam but then were directed off the main road through the middle of a tiny village with continual traffic management devices and a speed limit of 30km/hr. WHY ?
