        Our own discovery of CHOCOLATE!

We've been talking about it enough. We've eaten enough of it. We think about it too much. Heck…I'm even dreaming about it …

        …ok…this is baaaaad….

The thing I am talking about, the decadent, smooth, sweet, emotion filled and guilt-free pleasure of CHOCOLATE. So vital to the swiss culture - even the women who are nursing their newborns tell me that drinking it is good for the milk production. SEE!! There you have it to ...

Nick and I left Laussane around noon to go to the Cailler Chocolate Factory in Broc. We were pleasantly surprised by their 45 minute tour, which included an automated walk through exhibit which was intriguing for people of all ages. They explained the history of chocolate, beginning with the Aztecs as we walked through a room with cocoa trees and Aztec ruins. Throughout the next rooms they told the story of how ...

The NRL Grand Final was scheduled to kick-off at 11am, so we left the campground in plenty of time, parked up Larz back in the town centre and wandered to the local Hooters who we'd been told had rights to the channel broadcasting the game.

Unfortunately it wasn’t to be, for whatever reason they couldn’t get Sky Sport, so a disappointed Jase left the bar, with one last thing to do before we left town – find a magnet! Interlaken ...

To Gruyeres & Broc on the Chocolate Train!

A travel blog entry by friendtheworld on May 02, 2013

This was such a great day trip- both educational & tasty. And then there's the TO DIE FOR scenery. Well- I wouldn't actually die for it but it was beautiful- both in the village of Gruyeres & on the panoramic train. We somehow ended up with seats in the very front of the train- picture solid glass in front of us. (lucky- seriously) It felt like we were watching an IMAX ...

We then headed off to Broc to visit the Cailler Chocolate Factory. As soon as we arrived we could smell chocolate in the air. In fact, they have small vents coming out of the side of the building releasing the lovely aroma into the air. We checked in for the next English tour and then perused the chocolate bars for sale and pondered which varieties we might like to get afterwards. As we were reading the signs overhead, Anoop asked "why would you do that"? I looked up to ...
