... Chocolate! We were having a chocolate making workshop, just the two of us. They were so nice. The main chocolatier who is Swiss is married to an English lady and he'd just come back from a holiday in Scarborough of all places. Felt a bit guilty about this :).. Anyway, he was so interesting and showed us the whole process from bean and nibs (bits of chocolate) through to the final products. They were making all sorts: salted caramels, ordinary ...

Courses that were outstanding for me were the 64C poached egg served with the yolk and white separated, garlic crumb, poached wild mushroom . That was just great. ... and with it the last daylight butt the horizon. So we walked through the darkness a narrow path up the hill. Always Muxia the undaunted ran off the front and has shown us the way. After about 45 minutes we arrived on a flat plateau, where we wanted to pitch our tent. As Manuela has more experience with tents they looked for a good place to the tent to build.

I stood a few feet behind Manuela I suddenly a faint "ups" heard from her. At first I thought ...

    St. Nicholas Pushes Santa Aside

It was a sunny Saturday afternoon as Steve and I packed the girls bags for our first train ride down to Fribourg for the St. Nicholas Festival. Every year on the evening of the first Saturday in December, St. Nicholas rides into Friboug on his donkey, escorted by a procession of musicians, singers, and men dressed in black cloaks with "whipping brooms" made of twigs. St. Nicholas is a 4th century bishop from ...
