Stop in Berne, the capital city of Switzerland en route to Lake Genève. Visit the town of Montreux, famous for its Jazz Festival, before enjoying a lakeside drive to Evian les Bains on the southern slopes of Lake Genève. Departed Zurich at 9am to head to Bern. We had no preconceived ideas on what Bern would like, but when we drove into Bern, it is just jaw droppingly beautiful. No words could explain how beautiful this place is. Have a look at ...

Thwarted but insistent, I release the catch. The French policeman holds our passports, checks our names and language understanding. Appearing ...

... you'll never catch him!). And had dinner together and their beautiful balcony.

Bellies full, we headed to Champery where we GOT TO BE PART OF A PARADE!! How cool is that?!? Christel kindly organized for us the opportunity to be part of the national day parade in Champery. This was no little "pied piper" event. This was a full on parade, music, costumes signs, banners, organized. Talia and Avaia wore red t-shirts with their white ...

... country road to Badenweiler with only 25 km to go.

It is dark twilight by the time we enter the quiet spa town of Badenweiler. It is immediately apparent that it is a special space in the hills of the Black Forest. We find the the Hotel Rebecca B&B courtesy of the Garmin and with no one in the reception area because it's after hours, we follow the instructions in German to find our room, drop some stuff off, then immediately set out to ...
