    There were two choices today for tours. John visited the Hermitage wine vineyards. A 300 acre vineyard high on the hill with terraced walls of vines. They produce 70% red from the black Syrah grape & 30% white from Marsanne & Rousanne white grapes. They tasted aged limited productions as the wines produced here are not to be savored for at least five years. Their red wines can last up to 40 years. I on ...

    ... s around 4.30 we decide to pull off at what we think is a small town Bourg Saint Andeole but it turns out to be a really busy place but we find a room at a Logis hotel and although the room is small for €49 it's fine. A couple of beers at the bar next door in the sunshine and then the usual washing everything, so tired we decide to,eat in the hotel which was actually very good.     ... there are lots of factories and suddenly there's the sign VR. Lovely to be out of the traffic and along the Rhone plus lovely such a lovely smooth path even if it takes a bit of a round about route.     We started with a walking tour of Viviers, a village of about 5000 people. Narrow streets, old buildings, the church dating back to the 14(?) century. The walk spiralled up to the cathedral, which is the smallest one in France. Here, we were treated to an organ recital in the cathedral-what beautiful acoustics!
