... questions the tour took an hour not 20 mins, felt very lucky as he loved the cave and gets to explore not only the ones we could access but the other 14 kms of caves we can't go to as its too dangerous but beautiful- a job is is proud to do as he sees himself as a gatekeeper! All in french too, when things are in context we can both get the drift of whats being said it seems.....

... meters? It's all so clever and calculating, really impressive! We are stopped now in Avignon for 2 nights. JP led us on a walk to the Palais du Pope (pope palace, geez louise, this catholic money and land grab gets a bit tiresome!) but we rebels had a happy hour on the steps of the pope square, we carried in wine bottles, cork screw, glasses, olive bread, sausages, baguette and chestnut ...

We are sailing today from Lyon to Tournon, there has been a lot of rain so the Rhone river is on Orange alert, which means that big ships cannot sail. The reason is that the Rhone has several locks, which are really really fascinating. I've never sailed on a boat like this before (not to brag, but I have been assigned the role of ballast on a catamaran previously) so these locks are so great! ...
