... rouler sur des petites routes sinueuses au beau millieu des Alpes durant la NUIT, ce n'est PAS agréable), nous arrivâmes à Tournon-sur-Rhône qui est enfin une "vraie" ville. Nous y trouvons donc notre hôtel et y prenons un repas bien mérité avant d'aller nous effondrer dans la chambre.
PS : Nous avons appris comment composer un numéro de téléphone français durant le repas grâce à la serveuse qui devait nous trouver un peu étranges.

Valence
Valence's historic old town is built on a river bank, so many of the streets are actually stairs up and down the side of a hill. Far more peaceful than Lyon, it was nice to just wander about the park and the old town and have some green time and some ...
Today, we had to wear jumpers!
... stopping at all the obligatory "photo" opportunities. Watching the canoeists a long way below winding their way along the river made me even more determined. Our photos just won't do the stunning scenary justice. En route we came across wild mountain goats that smelt of goats cheese! Why is that? Is it their wee?
We eventually got home at about 6.30pm, fired up the BBQ and had a "show" performed for us by Helena & Louis, that soon turned into a debacle!

Day 2 exploring with Annick & Francoise
... a wall with bullet holes in it where the young men had been lined up in front of, and shot. A plaque describing the events was very moving.
On our walk back we took a slightly different path, enjoying the sunshine and eating wild strawberries growing roadside.
Back at the country house, we set up for our lunch outside in the sunshine. Had a relaxed and enjoyable 'picnic' before packing up and heading off.
