We started with a walking tour of Viviers, a village of about 5000 people. Narrow streets, old buildings, the church dating back to the 14(?) century. The walk spiralled up to the cathedral, which is the smallest one in France. Here, we were treated to an organ recital in the cathedral-what beautiful acoustics!

Our day started on the move, we have been travelling overnight going through locks heading south along the Rhone. By breakfast time we were docked alongside at a very small place called Tounon. At about half past ten, we went to ...

... vans pulled up, we loaded all our gear and took about a 45 min drive to Albertville. The mountains here beautiful. The rise up very quickly.

We arrived at hotel Le Roma around noon. Overall the hotel is nice. There is a small pool and great view. The only challenge is the heat. They are having record heat in the low 90s and no AC. Hopefully the temp drops tonight.

After having an orientation meeting we scarfed a big lunch and got our bikes ready to go. ...
