... my taste buds and memory.

After that little soiree, into the brisk afternoon for a walk through the town. Well, the parts near the champagne houses. Into a cave, literally, stocked with what seemed a million different varieties of champagne. Checked out a few of the selections on offer, but decided we'd find Tanneux-Mahy, the last champagne from the afternoons tasting. Found the street with no problem (a little village on ...

    A little fizzer!

A travel blog entry by andy.and.emma on Aug 25, 2014

... Sorted with the campsite, but it was still raining so put off putting the tent up and we headed off to get a tasting or two in - first stop was Hautvillers, a lovely little town that can claim to be the home of Champagne after Dom Perignon invented the method to manufacture - and now has a street named after him. After asking at the info centre about a little bar that I'd heard was great, we were unfortunately told it was closed on Mondays... Always our luck!We were recommended to ...
