... parked here gave us the card of a boat builder/repairer off towards Paris and I think we will try emailing him (in French, sigh) on Monday.

Meanwhile Stan put a plywood roof on the missing part and has wood and styrofoam to block up the holes and some vinyl stuff to glue down across the top that will get us through for the foreseeable future, though it sure does not look lovely!

Time to get to the train station and back to Paris! We stopped at Auberge Pyrénées Cévennes on our way home for a nice, conservative portion of cassoulet - as seen in the photo! A quick drive back up the road (still raining) and we jumped out and ducked into the beautiful little church! Quite a simple building overall, the interior was more beautiful to me for it's simplicity, lovely wooden features including some amazing carving. We then crossed the street to Gobillard et Fils, a quite hidden little champagne house, but one of the ones recommended. Inside we found a ...

... navigated Claudia through some very narrow and winding roads, and upon arrival Pierre met us at the door. This particular champagne house is small - in fact, they only produce 60,000 bottles a year (mostly sold only in France) and it is almost as if they make the wine in the back of the house. But that just made the tour all the more enjoyable as it is still done on a very small scale, without the trappings of the tourist industry to which ...
