... but were met by a sign on the front gate which said "Interdit Pic-nique", and anyway it was too wet to do any pic-niqu-ing, so we spent all the time we wanted in the gardens. We stopped on our way back to the bus to see the sculpture of Monet, and decided it was quite a nice little spot, so that was where we had our lunch. We had a rather hilarious experience on our way home. We caught all the right trains ...

... fountains aren't working because of the cold. We were lucky it was a sunny day, so we had a bit of a walk around the gardens. We managed to run into one of the couples who had been on the tour with us, as well. After returning to our hotel, mum wanted to have a bit of a rest, so I went for a walk to Galleries Lafayette, which is the large shopping centre in Paris. It has every clothing brand you can think of. Apparently the Parisians love to go shopping here late ...

... suites and three other bedrooms. The top floor had a further three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The other guests stayed in the coach house which had 8 rooms all with bathrooms..
