    ... If you look closely you can see that at that point, there is a turnoff to climb directly to col #2, so it's debatable whether or not to include this one in the day's count, especially since col #2 was a mere 2km further up (literally) the road.

    When I got there, I was surprised to meet some people who, apparently hoping to avoid some elevation/distance, had climbed the road I was about ...

    ... there and are expected to purchase something. As well as masses of farm products they also have loads of wine from 3.50e upwards!!
    We were glad we had electricity as the site is at about 1200m and it was very cold - when we woke up everything was white with frost - glittering in the sunlight ,with the valleys full of mist.

    ... end. Jane has been quite unwell for some days with bad cold and flu. After reaching saint - Chely it was decided that in fact it was time for her to actually seek medical advice.. Which turned out to be a good move because she does indeed have pneumonia and tomorrow she must have a chest X-ray in Saint - come d Olt and we will have to see what the out come of that might be..     ... day. We would catch either a taxi or the bag van.... Helen and jane were both thinking of walking.... During the night there was a lot of rain and wind....when we woke at 7 am it was still blowing a gale and of course non of us were about to walk in that kind of weather so....... Leisurely breakfast... Spent the morning in a bar/ coffee shop planning the rest of our days and taxi booked for 2 pm to next stop saint - Chely d' ...

    ... t even make it up the stairs to our room without first sitting down to a huge beer and some recovery time....exhausted.... We had dinner in the hotel which none of us could eat, not because it wasn't nice it was actually delicious however we were all so tired we left our main course virtually untouched and staggered to bed at 8:30..
