... through our original car 2 (which we were directed to by the man at the original station) to train car 1. Once there we hunkered down in our seats. There was a man beside us with a small dog who snored and a woman behind him with an even smaller dog who slept on her lap. ... in front of it for a few minutes. The d'Orsay is not as busy as the Louvre and feels less hectic. You can sit and enjoy a work of art without too many people getting in your way!
The three of us were finally all together at the museum and we got some lunch. Then went quickly to the 2nd floor to see Van Gogh's self portrait. There were a few other Van Gogh works that were very nice, but that was enough art for the day.
... That evening Steph and I had a short stroll to Montmartre...the really cool old school Paris that you read about in books or see in movies. We enjoyed drinking some red wine in the charming main square, as local artists drew portraits of fellow drinkers under the street lights, with old French stores and the illuminated Basillica Sacre Coer in the background. It was about as Parisian as it gets.

... Paris was allocated to visiting the Louvre. Got there reasonably early and had purchased our tickets the day before so pretty much walked straight in. Followed the crowds to see the Mona Lisa. We found the painting eye catching and bigger than we thought it was going to be. The crowds were small so got to the front rail quickly and then stayed for a while to admire her. ... and I got to meet her French friends who tried teaching me French. Basically, they said they were only speaking French because I need to learn, but they helped me when I couldn’t understand some things. They were really nice and I was actually understanding a lot (oddly enough). After the bar we went to this club and I just remember getting back to the apartment around 7am.
