... not to talk politics and religion. He is quite a progressive and charitable man... However he did make it clear that the windfarms ARE ugly, and they ARE killing the birds, he'd like to see them removed. Tomorrow after breakfast in the great dining room, we'll be driven to see where Tim's Opa lived, then driven back to Amsterdam. I will sleep well tonight, with a belly full of delicious food, a clean comfy bed with no smelly backpackers for miles, in a mansion fit for a queen! Sweet dreams ...

... village of Workum to visit the art museum of a famous local artist Jopie Huisman. He was a self taught painter who liked to collect old things and paint them. Fantastic work. Then ice cream and a cuppa at the cafe:) We drove on to Lelystad to see the replica of the ship Batavia from the VOC (Dutch East India company). They have also started to build another tall ship there. Then the rain started to come down so off home we went. A great day ...

... was indeed fast. It was twice as fast and Brian was required to put on a seatbelt since all passengers sitting on the isle with no seats in front of them were required to do so. OK, we didn't think it was fast enough to make that necessary but I guess in different sea conditions it may have been.

... next airbnb stay. We got a great welcome by Shere, a Spaniard married to a Dutchman. She had an 8 month old baby and they were renting their room in the attic. It was hard to find a place on the Island and the hotels that were not super expensive were all booked. The setup was not ideal since we felt we needed to be very careful not to disturb them. They were super accommodating and made every effort to make us feel welcome.

... like me you have a cheap imported American solar charger as backup which is the dogs kahonas and even has an emergency light built in lol. Have met several people today all very nice, a couple from Cape Town a couple from holland and nice couple at the site he's Dutch and she's american.
