We then found the sightseeing train over to the chocolate museum and we explored the shop and the views to the river. After the museum, we went back to the room to recharge after a long day. Later we headed to Papa Joe's which was a quirky little bar with all kinds of collectibles and even a ...

Since they live so far away in the U.S., I don't get to see them too much, so this was a super great surprise that I wasn't planning on before I came to Germany. The hotel was a Courtyard by Marriott about 5 miles out of the city but was a nice easy journey. The hotel was very modern and seemed to be near to many modern buildings and big company offices, I was greeted by a concierge who directed me to the check in desk, the lady on reception was really nice and it was a very efficient check in and I was given all ...

We awoke this morning in Cologne, and immediately after breakfast started off on a walking tour with a local guide. Along the river and up into the town. We visited the cathedral (of course), and saw some excavations on Roman ruins which was very interesting. 93% of Cologne was destroyed during the WW11 so it is quite a modern city, although a lot of the building was a reproduction of what was there before. It's hard ...
