Had breakfast at 8 am with Horst before he went to work at his Hansatouristik office in Contrescarpe Strasse. We walked the 3 km into the Hauptbahnhof to hire bicycles for the day and complete the River cycle tour. However we only had our drivers licenses with us and they would hire out bikes without siting our passports. Instead we decided to partly complete the 17km Bremen Innerstadt Runde bike tour on foot. We walked points 1-8 on the tour map covering Stadtmitte, ...

    Our vacation starts

... ever before, our luggage was also there so we headed off to pick up our Alamo rental car. Even that was a cinch. Not even 15 minutes and we had our jeep loaded and headed off to Cape Coral. But alas not everything was easy. We needed over an hour to reach Alligator Alley. The I-75 North was one huge traffic jam which caused us to travel an extra hour. ... lady asks me if I'm going to Buchholz. Yes I am! She gives me a lift to the swimming pool because I'm in a desperate need of a shower. After the shower, I go into the centre of Buchholz. I buy some things and then continue towards Jesteburg. It's time to find a place to put up camp and finish the day. Just before Jesteburg, there's a nice forest where I put up my tent. I've picked up some fresh tomatos, onions and garlic today so I can make a proper gravy for my pasta. I love my ...

... enough for one person. Perfect. I enter a supermarket to get pasta, chorizo and tomato ketchup. I'm cooking what Mikel's eating almost every day. I'm still going to Lüneburg to solve my mattress problem. I head south-east towards the B73. But I'm tired and on the first good spot, I put up camp. Just outside of Buxtehude, in a tree patch between a grain field and the road. I cooked and ate a warm meal, ...

... I'm close to the parking lot and there's a nice shelter with a table and seats. I spend about three hours, mostly reading, waiting for the rain to stop. Guess I won't make it into Buxtehude after all. When the rain stops, I move towards a part of the forest where there are less walking tracks and, out of respect for the bereaved, where they don't burry ashes. There I find a nice spot to put up ...
