... to Karneval in Düsseldorf in my costume. We had fun. It was crazy! There were so many people there!!!! And broken beer bottles all over the ground! It was my last night with Trevor. I have some great pics but prob wont be able to add them to my blog til I come home.

So, I might go and visit a castle. If I have the chance I will add one more entry. If not, see u all soon

One more week to go...

... to our teacher to say 'thanks'. After lunch I have IKK and have to give a presentation about Australia in German. The idea is that I give everyone an idea of how Aus is so that they won't experience culture shock if they come to visit. I have to do it all on my own. The Argentinians have to do their's altogether.
Thursday night we have a break up dinner in Essen and after that I am going to Düsseldorf for the start of the Karneval festival. It's Weiberfastnacht ...

Burg Linn und Schwannensee

... br>Wednesday we only had classes in the morning because in the afternoon we went on our excursion to Burg Linn. This is the one that was supposed to be on 2 weeks ago on the saturday after the hurricane but the trains weren't running... Remember? Well, anyway it was really nice. It was nothing like the Residenz at Würzburg, but that's because it is a Burg (i.e. Fortress) and not a schloss (i.e. Castle). There ya go, you are all learning some German words too!
The fortress was ...

It has officially turned into Winter

... from Berlin via Hamburg in 2 weeks, which I may consider doing if it is not too expensive... We'll see.

So, not much has happened since my last email. I went on an excursion to the old Synagogue in Essen. I have a photo of it from my first day in Essen. I called it the Dome Kirche! Whoops. I should have called it the Dome Synagogue! Oh well.

I have bought a couple of tickets for some culture in the coming weeks. I am seeing the ...

Sunday at the Opera

... I bought at Mayersche (the German version of Borders) for only 50 cents and then made brunch for Trevor and myself. Eggs on toast. Because I am the only one who owns a toaster it was a luxury.

I then recruited the help of Rafael to help me work on Backbeat, he has no objections coz it helps him with his English pronunciation and he gets to hear me sing, which he thinks is 'perfekto'

After that I got ready to go out the Opera. I ...

What happened Saturday?

... and see saws and Jair took photos with his camera. When I get a copy of them I will post them.

In Düsseldorf there was an Opera shop so we went in there to buy our tickets for La Boheme. There were only 3 left. 3 of us wanted to go. It was perfect. And so cheap! They really look after students here and give them fantastic discounts!

After that I tried my first ever taste of Häagen Daas Icecream which is supposed to be the best in the ...

Post Hurrikan und alles ist Gut

... created out of the buildings of an old industrial factory. There were different rooms with different kinds of music. it turned out to be a great night, but yet again we were late getting into bed.

Saturday we were supposed to go on an excursion to see Burg Linn (a castle) but unfortunately because of the storm, the trains weren't running.

I will let u know what happened instead in my next email, gotta go and eat some lunch,

... sure that I go to my room and then give me a call at the hotel. I have to be there because I am not allowed to go out anywhere. Thanks so much for ur message! It makes me miss u even more!
Don"t worry about my safety. Luckily the hurricane changed direction and will hit the eastern states worse than here.
So I"ll go now. Still cooking dinner and it's 10pm. I will try and leave another blog entry tomorrow if I can to let u know what I get up to.

... wasn't necessary) on the first day, and I visited a ton of places. I should try to go to bed, it's 2:13am as I write this. 1 March, I didn't end up sleeping until 3:30 am and I was woken up by a lady who works for the hotel at 9:15 because Simon was there already. Oops, so I left promptly, hopefully I didn't leave anything behind. We drove to the dorm finally and we had a wait a little while for the guy to show up, but I'm finally in a German dorm! There has to be more to do around here ...
