... The manager back at my Rhine Hotel put me on to this place and it is truly beautiful. He and his wife come here at least once a year and you can imagine it being quite busy through the summer.The Germans love their hot springs/spas/sauna type of stuff and although there is not too much history attached to this area it is certainly famous for the former and its name,"Bad" means bath.

We got up and were going by 8:00 and started sorting stuff, packing stuff and trying to figure where all this stuff came from. We simply can not remember accumulating all this. Ted showered and then and headed down to do the laundry we had generated over the week. Bonus: the condo-provided laundry facility is free. Down side: a short wash cycle is 118 minutes! On Sunday I caught the train to Bretzfeld to attend Gottesdienst at the church in Rappach. This is the place where my emigrant ancestor resided and the church there is quite small. It is affiliated with the church in Bretzfeld, but they only have services there twice a month. There were a few sprinkles as I made my way from the train station to Rappach via the Wanderweg. I arrived a bit more than 30 minutes early and the church was still locked, so I wandered through the village a bit. ...

... all adults smoke and the entire place smells like smoke. The streets stink, our entire hotel stinks of smoke, both inside the room and right the way through the lobby. It makes me quite angry that these people think it is ok to emit their noxious fumes within direct proximity of others. In this regard German society is at least 20years behind the pack.
