... the water came up to that level in June 2013. The guide told us that they do not live at ground level. Really only at the second floor level. As he said the Bavarians may be crazy but they are not stupid. It means that they have all been renovated and look lovely. Beautiful place. At 12.00 they have an organ recital which George went to. ... Krumlov is an absolute gem!
The city was badly neglected after WW2 but since the end of the Cold War, the city has been returned to its former glory and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992. Many of the pics below were taken from State Castle, with its gothic tower, 300 rooms and 3-story Mantle Bridge. The moat area is home to some bears which remained hidden while we were there.

... by mid afternoon, dressed in typical Bavarian costume. Yesterday, when we were in Regensburg, was Wednesday 13 th May, the day before Ascension Day, which is a public holiday in Germany. I think the young ones were about to visit the beer halls and wine bars, no doubt to celebrate the night away. Good luck to them!

    ... into the airport, but would load it in the KLM flight to Nuremberg. Did not happen, so arrived in Nuremberg without scooter. It has been located in Amsterdam and is to be delivered later tonight. THEN, we learn that it rained so hard last week that the river is too high and our ship, the Atla, cannot get under the bridge.     ... pastures, pine forests, little shrines in the fields and in the forest edges, very large farmhouses, all buildings neat and brightly painted. Lovely!
    And once we hit Linzt it's all factories commerce, efficiency.
