We had set off up the lane behind our apartment to walk to the street of palaces on the hill, where we were to visit three of them. We came upon a small square which we recognised as somewhere we had tried to get a drink yesterday but given up and walked on, after about 10 futile minutes.

... lady checking out Katie's camera as we crossed a busy road so I told Katie to put it away!
it was a very pretty place but very busy. We were on top of the bus and it was covered in a clear plastic. I felt we were slow roasting!! Yum/Yuk!,
sorry I have to write this very quickly in an Internet cafe before we miss the last bus and have to swim to catch the ship.

... floors and looked at the spectacular views from the property at the top, down to the village. The place is currently used for concerts, congress, weddings, etc. I can see why the location was selected. Inside the Villa it's beautiful. This was largely due to one of the last owners Alfredo Chierichetti (1919) and all the work he did on the building and gardens. His heirs in 1973 sold it to the City of Santa Margherita.

... for entree and a pasta with crab and tomato sauce for main. I had an Italian cebiche and a Ligurian Fish. All this with a bottle of Barolo to complement.
