The massive granite cannon balls used when enemies laid siege were pilled up in the moat, massive things, and you can see the damage the inflicted on the fortifications - but at 6m think and in a cylindrical shape most cannon balls just glanced off the walls. Max was in his element when we got the armory museum, old guns, Knight armor, every scary medieval weapon you could think of, it was gold to him.

... and rather like an English seaside town, except that the shops sell foccacias and pizza. Our hotel is half a block from the beach but most of the stoney beach areas require you to pay to get in. You can hire a deck chair too, if you pay. We walked to the "old" town but didn't explore very much more. John picked up a paninni for dinner and sat on the balcony and ate it. What a rough life we lead! We have a tour guide and tour of Cinque Terre tomorrow. Let's hope the sea isn't too ...

... we ended up there after dinner, three subway lines later, for sunset. I learned two important things my first day in Europe: (1) the world is incredibly difficult to navigate without internet access & (2) Kelly & I might as well have a stamp on our forehead that says "American" Overall, I really enjoyed Milan. Getting lost multiple times ended up being a blessing in disguise. We were able to see a lot of the city in the one day we had. Onto the next tomorrow AM, Praha! ...

... The salon had approximately 20 staff and each staff member is assigned to either washing, colouring, blow dryer. However there is only one person who cuts hair, the maestro (the owner) Luciano Colombo. Michelle decided to have her hair cut so we we got to see him in action. While i am waiting for my colour to take i am treated to a mini manicure . All up he treatment cost me 66 euros. Next stop ...
