As regards our Romanian holiday we have booked our accommodation, a real mixture of smart(ish) hotels, wayside B&Bs and self catering. We have the outline of a route-around 4000 kms in total taking us over the Transalpina and the Transfagarasan via a few castles all the way to the Danube Delta on the Black Sea and back via the Iron Gate Gorge,Belgrade and Zargreb.

What an amazing nursery - they have all the beautiful trees and plants that grow well in this climate as well as a surprising collection of exotics - cactus, bougainvilla, citrus trees and palms. Many people here have sunrooms so I imagine they create exotic indoor gardens to get them through the snow time.
