and stop at my usual hotel in Seefeld and then onto my stop in Darmstadt and
finally Amsterdam. However that would mean boarding the ferry home on Sunday eve

We departed Rome on time at 7.50am and had a pleasant rail trip to Venice Mestre station where we changed to a coach for the trip to Villach. Train got up to 250kph in places and there were lots of tunnels. The Coach was very comfortable and the scenery very interesting as we left the plain behind and headed into the mountains.
