Washing day yeah! Today's highlight is to get our washing done so that we have clean clothes for the Africa trip. It's been nearly three weeks away so even with hand washing it is time to come clean. We have driven to Bremen and have found a laundromat within 300 m. That is the only good thing about the hotel. It is a Wyndham hotel and that is why we picked it. Will have to talk to Drew when we get home. Tonight we will go into Bremen for ...

... beeps and we were informed that they had to restart the locomotive. It didn't end up working so we switched to another ICE train to Mannheim along with everyone else after a 25 minute delay.

Thankfully we didn't have to stand too long and managed to get a seat. I just don't know why the Deutsche Bahn is so bad at running ICE trains. Faced with a 40 minute wait to make a complaint, we decided to head home instead, which thankfully was without delay!

... Bernadette and Pauline, and sampled some very cool Belgian beers ( I tried a few new gluten free ones) We had a wonderful dinner which worked out perfectly except for our plan of buying an extra pizza to go, so that we'd have breakfast pizza failed miserably when we stored it on the porch in the rain and ants got into it. We then had a very difficult parting in the airport, it was extremely tough ...

... was also quite nice. I tried the cod and Steffie and Carole tried the fried eel wrapped in bacon. Rainer tried a bit of everything!

As we were leaving we noticed that the cruise ship Aida Luna was hauling anchor and setting sail. It was pretty cool to see the ship being turned around in front of us before heading off to see. Hamburg ist das Tor der Welt (Gateway to the World) and there are many cruise ships that come into harbour here. A cool way to end the day!
