After Trier, we headed to Cologne to see the cathedral. Cologne is a big city and we had a heck of time finding the parking and then lugging our stuff into the hotel--a little stressful :). ... and advice, but seriously, we were tired and just want to get to the apartment. So we set off with a map for the apartment in the rain. It was very busy with crowds heading to the Opera but we did get the most magnificent views of the cathedral as we walked past. So we get to the front door only to realise that the nice lady did not actually give us the key. Back I go leaving the other under the shelter of the veranda to collect the key. ...
