    Day 5: Germany

A travel blog entry by creeky on Jul 10, 2015

Day 3 of our tour saw us travel from Amsterdam to Germany. After a few hours on the coach we arrived in Boppard, where we were able to walk on the banks of the Rhine during a bit of free time. The weather today has been awesome so we grabbed an ice cream and admired the scenery. After our free time finished we got onto the Rhine cruise to St. Goar. The cruise had the option to buy some food or drink so I decided to try a ...

    Day 11 Speyer to Gambshime

Simon learnt a new trick today: he worked out he can cycle the tandem no handed! ( as long as I don't wobble it, the road isn't too bumpy and the road is fairly straight). This is terrifying but kept us entertained for about an hour whilst it was perfected without crashing. Other than these we've only seen one other couple on ...

There really was a sandy beach with palm trees, hammocks , deck chairs and loungers, and with the water in the background you could have been on a tropical island in the Caribbean. I quickly rallied the troops to come for a drink in this quirky bar, it was quite late and no more cocktails were being served which was probably just as well, but it was very nice spot to finish the hectic ...

Ladies and gentlemen; Meine damen un Herren; Madames et Monsieurs:

Yesterday - a day of reckoning; a day for a man in full flight into (late?) middle age, knocking on the twin doors of decrepitude and decay; astride the ramparts of ruin; to take honest stock of his fall, and of the inevitability of time. (Patty here: Jaysus Christo!) Walking the town of Heidelberg, a venerable old University town, I felt again as I did as a young man; as a student: a youthful lilt in my ...

    Howdy folks,

Been into a bookshop lately? Ever noticed that if you go to the travel section that there seems to be an increasing number of guide books and travel journals on sale. Maybe you didn't know that Lonely Planet was founded in Australia by a couple of backpackers in 1972 and eventually sold for millions?
