... I came up yesterday.
After taking the fork the road down this section heads down into a massive deep valley and gently drops as it hugs the edge of the mountain.
After about 5 or so miles the valley becomes narrow and the road starts twisting its way down a magical pass in all directions. Some of the pass has been reconstructed over the years and various sections of old road can be seen as I descend.

We were enchanted by the magic of the lakes, especially Lake Como, with low-lying clouds, misty mornings, twinkling evening lights. ... then headed over to the museum. We had been told it was great for kids and they loved it. It had a mini scitech section, a section on mountain animals, dinosaur and whale bones, plus more. We spent a couple of hours there being dragged from section to section by 3 excited kids. Luckily the drive home was much less eventful than the ride there and Luca and Brodie both had a nap. at 1050m, arriving around 10am. Found a nice pitch and checked in. Really nice
place, with heated bathroom facilities and a nice restaurant. A regional card
is thrown in for 2 euros per night extra, offering free bus rides, chairlifts
and 30hr ...
