... trap, no doubt, but I've wanted to visit it. I had no idea that Germany and Austria were so devout in the Catholic religion. We saw wood carved crucifixes along the roadside and here and there on mountain sides. Our guide told us it was not a marking for accidents or anything tragic, it was just a place for hunters or woodsman to go and pray when they were away from the village.

Innsbruck is a very old and beautiful city. It is small, 130,000 and sits between two mountain ranges in a narrow valley. We did see skiers but the lifts don't operate ...

      Tunnels, tunnels and more tunnels

We drove from Lindau to Innsbruck. It is about a 2 hour drive without stops on mostly 4 lane road and good highways. We already had out Austrian Road sticker. We got that when we went to Lichtenstein.

Finally here came a car which must have been the first one in about 20 or
so km. Not that that means anything as it could be a local from a town or
somewhere like that. I continue and am now looking for anyone at the roadside to
simply ask if the pass is open but with not a single person in sight I simply
      continue in hope.
Finally here comes a camper and behind it about 20 or so cars. yes, i
thought, the road must be open.

... got to ride the chair lift all the way down the mountain to the lower ski lodge! It was nice because otherwise I don't know if we would have made it to the bus on time. We rode the bus back, and this time we got to see the amazing views with a sunset involved! It was absolutely beautiful- I think that Austria may be one of my new favorite places! The pictures that I have posted just do not do it justice at all as to how beautiful it really ...
