... ended that day with dinner in the park watching the sunset and paragliders falling all over the sky into the park! The next day we woke up early and prepared for our day of hiking the Swiss alps! After taking a bus and a train we were at the foothills of one of the most popular areas to hike and ski in this area of Switzerland. We took a gondola ride up into the hills and begin our hike there! We hiked for almost 6 hours ...

The first part of the train trip lasted about 2 hours, and whilst I took loads of photos I have deleted most of them as it was one of those things you have to experience. ... but demanding hike, however with an extra day up our sleeve, we rented some mountain bikes and caught another expensive train up the the top of a 3090masl mountain. A 20km "downhill" ride (And 1400metre elevation loss). What fun!(?) The views from the top were amazing, however the going down was steep with lots of loose gravel, and quite often we had to get off and walk our bikes downhill. At a requisite rest stop, plonked on ...

    Stressful Switzerland!

A travel blog entry by jennifer.locke on Oct 10, 2010

Fact of the day:- Todays date is 10.10.10! Took the 8am bus from Nice, France, through Milan (Milano), Italy and into Switzerland. Got to Milan ahead of schedule by about an hour, but then had to wait until the correct time to leave, however then had bad traffic, so didn't get into Lauterbrunnen until after 7pm. Nearly twelve hours on a bus! Has made me more determined to try to cut out the two long bus trips from Lauterbrunnen to Munich and then Munich ...
