    ... we expected to see. We visited the Kaiserliche Schatzkammer (the Imperial Treasury) which houses some of the most stunning and beautiful, and probably expensive, items of jewellery ever seen. The items are linked to various Austrian Monarchs via the Austrian throne or Holy Roman Empire.     Despite the weather, I headed up towards Lake Brienz anyway. I figured it might be a while before I'm back this way again, so I should probably make the best of it. I ended up being early for the boat cruise, so I sat and read for a while until it was time to go.

    If you are a railway buff - then this would rock your world. It was build almost 100 years ago by 100 Italian workers - based on one man's big idea. The railway itself is actually inside Mt Eiger and climbs from 1,000m to 4,000m - it's an amazing ride - the first bit has spectular views and then you head off inside the moutain - but there are a couple of stops ...
