... about Zadar is the "Sea Organ" and the Sun Salutation. This is an installation in a public park at the end of the peninsula on the sea. It's a 35 pipe organ that's under the pavement. When the water moves, it creates waves through pipes that "fuel" the organ. It's a subtle sound and pretty cool as you walk along the sea. When a boat moves past, the organ gets louder and more notes are played.

... No one hunted us down, so we kept going. We entered the motorway where the overhead neon signs brutally told us it was only 9 degrees, and rode at 70 miles an hour in frozen silent shaking automation. It was here that I got yelled at for the first time (that I know of). Even though we had to pay to get into the park, you had to pay an additional 5 Kuna ($1) to use the restroom (known as Toilette or WC). I have always found this ridiculous (in Turkey you had to pay a dollar to use the restroom, which was just a hole in the ground. Grrr!), but I'll save my ranting for another time. Anyway, although Croatia ...

Australia: the lucky country

... and transport can run hours late. In Alexandria, Egypt, the trams were the same ones used when my grandma lived there in the 1950s. When catching the overnight train from Sofia to Belgrade I hardly slept because there was nothing or no one to tell you what the right stop to get off was. Transperth also has the best website I have ever seen for public transport. If only I'd had something similar to that.  English music ...
