    Today Rod and John ( Tom has business to complete) take a trip to the ferry dock while the girls go window shopping down the mall...Beneton... Pandora. Hermes...Prada...so spectacular we daren't enter... We finally get a free shuttle to the dock compliments of the canteen that offers a deal to diners to(and from )the port where we are to spend the night while we travel to Athens. ...

    Wow. I didn't think that sailing out of Venice was on my bucket list, but I added it. And then ticked it off. It was more amazing than I ever expected. We hopped on board the msc preziosa at about midday, had a wander around before the ship left at 4.30 and squeezed between the islands of Venice.     ... the country bumpkin style here!!! Fascinating ....built around the harbour... One commercial and the other fishing and leisure. The rain comes down and we have to buy umbrellas.. The humidity rises and we rush for cover to a small ristorante recommended by an ex gendarme .... Tom at his best baresse...and the rest of us sticking out like sore thumbs....foreigners at our best.     ... After a while it was time for our reservation and we went back to the shops on top of the cliffs. We were very nervous about what to expect at the restaurant. Reviews online ranged from spectacular to downright appalling. Most sided with the latter.
