We leave Dresden for a short road trip south to Chemnitz. Dresden was beautiful but we really thought one day may have been enough. Such a beautiful city (the part we saw anyway) considering 90% of it was destroyed in allied bombing raids in early 1945 just before the war ended (have a read, 50,000 civilians killed by the British and Yanks with bombs and fire bombs!) On looking around the hotel and the spa area, two things strike me: firstly, this is a real Spa hotel, with resident Doctors and Dieticians where you can indulge from the likes of a eyebrow tweeze through to an endoscopy!!....I'll just be booking a massage...secondly, the clientele are a mix of East European, German and East Asian..not a Brit in sight. Once having enjoyed a relax we went ...

... lengths I discover just how much out of shape I am.  'Getting Fit' goes to the top of my 'To Do List'. No more excuses! This place should be £400 per night, but the deal we had was fantastic.  We have a treatment each (massage e.g.), a free drink of our choice and a 3 course dinner including wine.  My accountant quickly works out that with our discount, the meal and all the other freebies we are effectively ...
