    ... to note that no one in Holland appears to take VISA cards. In fact
    credit cards are not much use here. Apparently the people are almost boycotting
    credit cards as a way of protesting the high charges attached to credit card
    transactions. These charges are around 5.5% which is very comparable to our
    charges in South Africa. The difference here is that the people are prepared to
    do something about it.

    ... the sunshine waiting for it (he'd warned us at length that it could take some time!) Whilst we waited, a group of a dozen or so lads turned up. We concluded they were a stag do as one was dressed up with a red neckerchief and dungarees that said I love Dora!     Set off by half 1 to drive up north to Friesland. The journey got greyer and greyer as we got further north.     Walked into town and had my haircut. A great feeling to have it cut after so long. Then to the bakery to say hi to Eva. We went for a walk in the afternoon to the Makkum beach and a quiet beer.
