Hit the 2000 mile mark today North of Warsaw Still without a map of Russia but we bought the other essentials (wine, shampoo, vodka and brioche). Using the trusty compass to get by and shaking it when it doesn't agree with us! At least we are driving through beautiful countryside with lots of storks, wherever we are heading. Heard from another team that it took them 5 hours to get over the Russian border so trying to get there early with our camping ...

... that the dark cloud ended just.. over.. there, but I never seemed to escape it. Instead, the dark cloud over me got bigger and enveloped my entire landscape, leaving me to wear away the miles under a constant light shower. For the first couple of hours, my gear stood up well. My gloves of course, being terrible, immediately got saturated but that's normal. I discovered the bike I'm using has heated hand grips that can be turned on, so that helped a lot. Shortish ride her yesterday,through pine forests,and very quite roads,it was stunningly beautiful. 270 miles,arriving at our gorgeous hotel,all marble reception,very plush,private parking for bike, Our room had its own private balcony. Last nights meal with wine and beer cost about £7.00. We are travelling into Lithuania ...

... Everyone went out their way to prepare a meal for us and it didn't matter if we weren't hungry, we ate. Patrick may not have understood too much of the conversation but he was happy to enjoy the food so lovingly prepared for our visit. We ended up leaving Stawiski promising to return for a longer visit to Poland in a few years.

Poland was an amazing place to visit, we hated to say goodbye but Prague was next of the list and it was time to go.
