Drove from Trangsviken to Ostersund. Went to Jamtli Historieland open air museum. Dodged the rain to see goat and cow cheese and milk prepared, bought fresh flat bread (not as good as yesterday's) and heard a lot of the local history from "actors" in authentic dress. Finally decided to go inside when it hailed!!

        So ...

Baking bread and patting a moose.

... the Moose Garden, a commercial site for breeding moose for educational purposes. We had our own private tour. Stroked the 4 moose calves, then INTO the enclosure with the 3 cows and 3 bull moose, all tame enough to be stroked and patted, while we learnt so much about the whole breeding and rearing process. Very bonding experience for all, especially Julia, who would have taken one home, I am sure.

... Storsjon. We saw fresh snow on the mountains towards Norway! (This is midsummer!)

Then we travelled to Trangsviken, to be welcomed by Rob and Rob's camping friends from Hungary last year, Julia and Eskil Pihl. Camped in their yard, in a small village Trangsviken, not far from the lake. Wonderful dinner on ...

... first stop was the Vasa museum. This building houses a huge wooden boat, built in the 1600's when Sweden were at war with Poland. The boat was a huge twin gundeck warship which had a fatal flaw in the design. On sailing out of the harbor it listed badly to the port side, let in water through the open gun decks and proceeded to sink in the harbor…it lay in 30 meters of water for more than 300 years before it was salvaged in the late 1900’s. it took many years to preserve ...

... I forget my pads so I walked around in fear of another mishap on my one last remaining pair of pants. Joy.

There is a beautiful lake and a rune on the other side of the lake so I went to check that out. Then I went downtown to find a pawn shop to buy another camera from. I talked him down to 300 kronor from 400. Go me. Later we had dinner at Petter and Klara.s and then met their friend Caroline.
