We were at the Skocjan Caves in time for the 10.00 am tour. It's a huge cave system. The first part of the walk was through a dry cavern - massive with impressively large stalactites and stalacmites. In parts it 100 metres high. The second part of the cave has water rushing through it although the water level is quite low at the moment. Once we were out of the caves it took us about 30 minutes to walk back to where Tilly was parked. We walked past ...

In the afternoon we did another optional tour "Visit to the Postojna Caves" a heritage listed site, taken my train underground then a 90 minute walk through the caves of natural limestone sculpture. This was a fantastic tour and well worth the money, all up 5 and a half hours although we couldn't take photos inside the caves. We've had the buffet dinner in the hotel each night included with Trafalgar Tours.
