    For the last few days we have had a magnificent view of Mt Etna from our camper and like Mt Taranaki, Mt Fuji and similar cone shaped mountains it is often hidden by cloud cover.

    We travelled via Cefalin, a former fishing village, and visited the cathedral there, then we had lunch at Miraglia Forest where the restaurant is part of a farm. A few minutes later we were doing our best to dry out what we could on the train platform while the storm continued to flash, blow and dump.     First impressions of Sicily weren't very positive as we assumed the metered taxi would charge us the correct fair, but it was at least double what what it should have been, and the drive to the hotel wasn't impressive.
