    The holiday came to an end and although Manchester Airport had to close for one day while we were away due to snow, Kittila Airport stayed open the whole week even though we had had a metre of snow!! We boarded the plane in Kittila Airport and took off on an ice rink once again. Manchester, UK here we come!!

    We had kept Friday daytime free of activities as we had a night booked at the Snow Hotel, in Lainio, Lapland. Stocked up with food, we waited for our taxi to the Snow Village, 45 minutes outside of Levi in Lainio.

    This Snow Hotel and Village was built for the 14th time this Winter out of ice from the nearby Lainio River. The Snow Village is built every year using 350,000 kilograms of ice and plenty of snow. It is built in November time when the snow ...
