... br> By mid afternoon the temperature was up to -5c, it had got warmer by 20 celcius in two days and the snow wasn't letting up either.

We were taking it easy indoors, just reading and watching television, but David was watching the snow build up again, another 8cm or so had fallen so he was back out again. No rest for the wicked!

In the early evening we were starting to get hungry and couldn't be bothered to cook so ...

... underfloor heating was broken so we'd had to switch it off last night and despite it being 15c warmer outside, we could feel the chill in the cabin. David lit a fire in hearth to heat the cabin up.

The remainder of the morning and the daylight hours of the afternoon were spent watching television and reading before we donned on warm clothes for a walk. We went down to the village and had a look round the shops, David is keen to buy a jacket, ...

... The sky becomes a beautiful colour at this time of day, on one side of the sky it is quite light blue whilst on the other it's inky black. It's not often you get to see such a variance in colour in the sky, at the same time.

Back in the cabin, we made homemade pizza for dinner and Ronja arrived just in time. After dinner, as seemed to be becoming the norm, we had more glögi and then we started to make a dent in the 1.5kg bucket of candy that we received at ...

      Northern Lights

A travel blog entry by davidandmaria on Feb 25, 2014

... and as we turned the corner we noticed a green glow behind the trees in distance. Were the Northern Lights about to put on a show for us? We stopped in our tracks and focused on the glow...nothing...and then a streak of light shot up into the sky...and then another...the show was on!! For about 10 minutes we watched the light dance across the sky line and eventually shoot towards the heavens before fading ...
