A relatively short day today, about 17km. Knowing it would be an 'easier' day, we had a late breakfast and then made a few hotel bookings for the days ahead, before leaving town eventually at about 11am. It was cloudy all day, but no rain, so really nice weather for walking. Most of today was between farms and little villages. As we get closer to …

A note was awaiting us last night in Lastedo telling us that tonight's hotel had drainage problems and so we would have to take a taxi from today's destination to the next night's hotel. We went out to a bar nearby and had a couple of beers with octopus, ham and cheese as free tapas. The owner really looked after us. Then we went ...

... of town in a completely renovated 100+ year old stone house. Absolutely brilliant. I would recommend it to anyone staying in Melide. The tie. Itself was so friendly as well. Everywhere we went the people were so welcoming. We went into a small bar called Cafe Stop up from the albergue and the manager was great. The beers were €2 and he kept bringing out plates of delicious complimentary tapas. The first was pulpo or octopus which is the local ...
