... in the castle, it was interesting to see all the things they used to torture people so many years ago.

After taking a short ferry ride across the river we walked through a nice park along the river to a small restaurant where we ate lunch. Then we continued walking in the park past the town zoo and beautiful flower gardens and back to our hotel. It was nice to see their city.

... talked with his mom and she picked us up at the earlier train station so it all worked out fine. We got on the train around 8:00 am and finally got to Marian and Saskia around 5:00 pm with only the last hour being in a car instead of a train.

Today was somewhat low-key. We had a chance to tour Sportgymnasium, Madison's host school. All the kids who attend are athletes. They come here because the curriculum and schedules are tailored around their training. Many of the students here have gone on to become top national and even Olympic athletes. ... through the forest and we came to a very impressive gateway to a, now vanished palace at Friederikenberg. It was interesting that just as went through Steckby just after 10am near the end of our days ride, a group of four females were leaving their pension to start theirs. Suddenly the breeze stopped and the sun came out and we had a lovely ride down to the ferry for Aken.
